We don’t find ourselves, we create ourselves over and over and over again. Good afternoon, everyone. I’m Dr. Cathy. Thank you so much for joining me on ChiroSecure Secure’s Empowering Women in Chiropractic Show. I am so excited it’s been so long since I’ve connected with everyone here and I’m so excited to bring you our topic this week because we’re really gonna talk about designing your best life.

And this is a topic that is so near and dear to my heart. and after all of the chaos and turmoil of the last three and a half, four years, whatever it’s been for people, this is a topic that I think is essential right now to help you really. Evolve into the person that you are destined to become and design your life in such a way that it brings you joy, happiness, excitement, adventure, and all the feels that you wanna feel.

So let’s jump right in, because really what I wanna talk about is how do you go about. Designing your best life, and there’s a lot of different ways we can approach this, but for me it’s always about start where you are and decide where you wanna be. And that means we need to get specific about our priorities.

What are your priorities now? Last weekend I was down in Florida at the League of Chiropractic Women’s Gathering event. It was our second annual event down in Clearwater Beach. I mean, it was absolutely beautiful. ChiroSecure, of course, was one of our sponsors, and we’re so grateful for that. Thank you so much.

But I asked this question during one of my presentations. What are your top priorities and what is it that you actually spend your day? Right, because sometimes we say that things are a priority, like we might say, travel and collecting memories and having fun and playing with my children are my highest values and my top priorities.

But then when we look at our day-to-day schedule and we see what are we actually. Giving up our precious time to, that tells you what you’ve really made a priority in your life. So we asked this question to the women and I put up a, a presentation where they were able to answer and some of the top answers that we got back were my health and wellness success, abundance, financial freedom, relationships being a great mom, being a great business owner or employer, you know, team leader.

And self prioritization, self-healing, and personal fulfillment. But then I ask the question, how many of you are committing your time on a daily basis, like it’s blocked out in your calendar? It is a non-negotiable. I am spending time on myself, self-healing, self-fulfillment, whether it’s stretching, whether it’s working out, whether it’s waking up with an attitude of gratitude or doing some form of journaling, or affirmations or visualizations.

How many of you are actually doing. On a daily basis, and you’re prioritizing it by putting it on your schedule. Now, I was in a room of highly evolved successful leaders, women in our profession, so of course the majority of hands went up. But when I’ve asked that question in the different rooms where I’ve had the privilege to speak, many people say that things are a priority, but that’s not actually what they.

Right. Your day-to-day habits, your daily rituals are proving what your priorities are, and they may not actually be your priorities. Somebody else may have put them on you. Someone else’s definition of success may have been put on you someone else’s definition of what a business owner or a leader or an entrepreneur or a entrepreneur is supposed to be.

Or even a mom or a woman who juggles multiple hats. Somebody else might have given you a definition that you’ve adopted as your own. And it might not actually fit. So figuring out, does that definition, do those priorities, do the daily rituals that I have actually fit the life that I’m trying to design?

That’s key. That’s knowing where you are and knowing, does this really serve me? And once we know that, what are our priorities and what are we really spending our time on? What I want you to ask yourself next is what is it that I want? What is it that I need? What is it that I truly desire? If there were no limitations of time, money, energy, resources, I mean, if my.

Everything was unlimited. I can have whatever I want. I can be wherever and whoever I want, and I can do all the things that I love. What is it that you would truly in your heart find joy, pleasure, excitement, and adventure doing, or whatever feels it is that you want? Maybe you want peace in your life.

Maybe you want love, maybe you wanna feel respected, maybe you wanna feel like you’re creating a legacy. What is it that you truly. What is it that you need and what is it that you really, really wanna desire to have in your life? So let me tell you a story, and it’s a story about why I do what I do and why I’m so excited to help you and other people just like you, create strategies and basically set up a foolproof roadmap to get them to their level of success.

So listen, we can all be honest and say the last few years have been tumultuous. Chaotic, challenging. There might have been some obstacles, there might have been some pitfalls. There might have been some big wins and there might have been some setbacks, but all of us have experienced something completely out of the normal during the last three years, and that’s okay if we recognize it, but just understand that those challenges might have been in the arena of finance.

It might have been in your business, it might have been in your relationships, it might have been a sense of social isolation because of the lifestyle choices that you, we, and many of us made during the last three and a half years. And if that’s the case, you might feel a little bit differently than what people see, right?

Because people that know you, whether it’s your patients, your clients, your customers, whether it’s the people that you work with on a day-to-day basis, whether it’s your friends on social media, they may see you. And look at the image you are putting out to the public and say, wow, she’s got it all together.

I mean, like, I wanna be like her, I wanna be friends with her. I wanna hang out with her. I wanna learn from her, and I wanna be like her. But meanwhile, what they don’t know is that under the, the, you know, the beautiful picture on the Zoom. You got your, your pajama pants on, your slippers are on, and your shushing, the, the kids or the dog, and right, like you’re paddling underwater as fast as you can to just try to stay above water.

And nobody knows that because you’ve managed to keep this professional image, this polished presentation so that everyone thinks, oh, she’s got it together. But in reality, you’re feeling. I’m going and I’m serving others and I’m losing myself in service. But you know what? It is so easy, especially during these last three years with all the challenges that have come for so many of us.

It is so lose easy to not just lose yourself in service, but to get lost. In service and truly lose yourself. And if that’s the case, I’m with you. I understand. Because look, this is not just my story. This is the story of so many people that I coach and so many people that I talk to, so many doctors that I mentor, and so many of the students that I get to speak to when I go and teach my classes at the university where they’re trying to look like they’ve got it all.

But in reality, they’re not fulfilled. They’re not excited about life. The passion has been dimming. Maybe there’s a side hustle that they wanna put some energy on. Maybe there’s something that they wanna go do or see or experience, and they’re just not doing it. And life just keeps moving forward and it just keeps moving forward.

So let me tell you about one of my clients. She, in the last few months working together has been able to drop the barriers, you know, those walls that she put up to protect herself, and she’s been able to lose some weight and she’s created new friend. And she’s opened herself up to the possibility of a new relationship and her business is thriving, and she’s finally realizing that she is not responsible for every single person around her, whether that’s from a financial perspective, from a responsibility perspective, whether it’s from a time perspective, she’s realizing.

That she is responsible to herself and her happiness is her responsibility, and that’s her story, and that’s the story of a bunch of the people that I coach with to try to help them understand that we need to make ourselves a priority. We’ve spent so many years. Putting out everybody else’s fires, running around, taking care of the kids, taking care of the family, taking care of the dog, taking care of the business, taking care of the staff, and the training and the everything right to the point where it seems like there’s no time for you.

and if that’s the case and your office has become a place where you escape to, to escape the stress of your life, let’s change things to make your office a place where you go to share your joy, to exude your passion, and to truly help people with the greatest thing they have and that’s their health. But make it just one facet of your life, and let’s make all the other aspects of your life glow to represent who you truly are and who you are evolving to.

And if that’s the case, I would love the opportunity to help you because helping people get into their genius zone and get out of their comfort zone has been a passion of mine for the last 30 years. And listen, if your desk is always cleaned off, If your purse is super organized and you don’t run in and outta the house every single day with 47 bags on your shoulders, you know, like for the gym, for the office, for the bills, for the kids, for, you know, the meetings that you gotta go to, if that’s not you, that’s awesome.

And I celebrate you because you’re doing great. But if you’re like me and many of us who are running ragged, sometimes burning the candles at both ends, stealing sleep to catch up on our private jobs that we want to do, or our side hustles, if you are making time in between calls and while you’re sitting in the carpool line or while you’re waiting at the kid’s sports or in between patients, right?

If that’s when you’re trying to get everything done, that hustle and that struggle is real, and I feel you. So let me help you. Super solid strategies that will make you able to accomplish what you want by setting up doable action steps that’ll keep you moving forward with momentum. Because listen, creating your most amazing life, designing your best life really starts with looking at what you’re doing now.

And sometimes asking for help, I found that asking for help doesn’t weaken me. It doesn’t make me less of a leader. If anything, it makes me a better leader. It makes me stronger, it makes me more well-rounded, and it makes me able to see things from a different perspective so that when I’m trying to design my best life, I know what I.

I know what I want and I can get really clear on my desires, and that’s when you get to step into the next step, which is to set big, hairy, scary, audacious goals. You know, the kind of goals that, like if you wrote this down on a piece of paper and somebody found it on the ground in your office, You would laugh and pretend it wasn’t yours because your goals are just that big, that if somebody found ’em, it would be a little bit embarrassing.

But that’s the kind of goals we really need to set for our lives, because if we don’t, and we’re just setting goals that are so easy to accomplish and so easy to achieve, life gets boring. We get complacent. We get static, right? We get comfortable and then we get cushy and comfortable and we don’t wanna get up outta that cushy, comfortable position to go do something.

When was the most exciting point in your life? It was when you were creating a new version of you from the unknown. It was probably when you moved away to go to school and you didn’t know anyone. You didn’t know the town. You didn’t know your way around. You didn’t know what you were about to learn. You didn’t know what you didn’t know.

Right? And so the idea of who you could become in that. Was exhilarating, right? It was so thrilling to be in a position where you get to decide what do I call myself? What name will I tell people to call me? What is it that I want to represent as who I am in this next chapter? Well, guess what? You don’t have to go back to school to do that.

You can do that right here and right now you set those big, hairy, scary, audacious goals, and then you start falling in love with your life as it is right now. But even more so with how it’s about to become, get the vision of who you wanna be. That might mean that you create a vision board and you put it on the wall next to your bed like I did, so that every morning when your eyes open up, the first thing you see is who you wanna be.

And then you absorb that vision as if it’s a reality, and every cell in your body is gonna try to match what your eyes are seeing and what your brain is believing. And then you’re gonna take the action steps necessary to become that person. Who steps into that best life. That’s what you do. And when you do all that, keep moving forward.

Listen, some of you have seen me, we’ve been doing a 90 day accountability group that we just started recently, and some of you have seen me. I’m on the treadmill a lot and some days on the treadmill because I just keep moving. I may not be moving forward, but I’m still in motion, and that act of being in motion is what’s going to help.

Stay committed to your daily ritual of movement. Movement is what gets us to where we need to go. Even if some days we’re moving a step backwards, just keep moving and eventually you’ll move forward. Stay in motion. If you saw my 90 day accountability group, listen, we’ve got people who are doing amazing things.

Some of them have created boundaries. Some of them are getting healthier. Some of them are learning how to speak their truth. We’ve got some that are learning a new language. One woman is starting a nonprofit to honor a loved one that she has lost. I mean, the things that these people in this 90 Day Accountability group are doing is so inspiring that it.

Fueled me to now open up a new community to help you design your best life. I’ve got a free checklist that it’s available for you to download right now, and I want you to go get it. It’s on my website. It’s at women’s voices matter.com/best life. Women’s Voices matter.com/best life, and I want you to download that checklist so that you can start doing some of the things that we talked about and more so that you can start designing your best life.

Look, it’s about knowing where you are, determining where you wanna go, and then creating the steps to get you. With accountability, with habits, with reminders, whatever it’s gonna take for you. And if what it’s gonna take for you is to have somebody that helps you gain clarity on what it is you truly want, or helps you develop solid strategies to show you how to get there, or helps you map out the action steps, end that plan step by step plan to get you there.

Hold you accountable. That’s what I do with my coaching clients, and that’s what I love to do with people because the reality is we all need a little reminder now and then We all need a little nudge look. As women, we’re juggling everything. I know I’m switching from the chiropractor hat to the mom hat, to the aerobics instructor and personal, you know, fitness instructor, to the college professor, to the person that wants to go out and travel and have a good time with my girlfriends.

I’m switching those hats. I’m juggling. You are juggling them. And the women and the men that I have the privilege to coach are juggling all those hats too. So if we wanna keep everything heading in the right direction, we have to have a plan because otherwise other people’s priorities and other people’s definitions of success.

Can get in the way. Fill up your calendar, take up all your time, and leave no space for you to be who you wanna be, do what you desire to do, and have the life that you truly deserve to have. So listen, here’s the thing. I want you to create this life, but I want you to. In your own terms, you get to define success by your own terms.

So if there’s any way that I can be of assistance to you, I welcome the opportunity. If you wanna reach out to me, you reach out to me through my website, through my Facebook pages, or you can just go ahead and download that checklist, women’s Voices matter.com/best life. And then if you want to, you can even set up a time to do a 15 minute discovery call with me to figure out.

Your true goals are, gain some clarity on that and we’ll help you in that 15 minutes. I can help you set up some strategies to start heading in the right direction so that you know what to be working on and what to allow in your life, what to no longer tolerate and how to. Continue to move forward.
