The Resolution of Developmental Coordination Disorder in a Child Following Chiropractic Care to Reduce Vertebral Subluxation: A Case Study & Review of the Literature
A ChiroSecure Research Update
Abstract: This case report findings of a 5-year-old male with developmental coordination disorder and related symptoms who underwent chiropractic care to reduce vertebral subluxations
Discussion: The child presented with signs and symptoms of developmental coordination disorder of which the onset is unknown. The child suffered from multiple motor defects and developmental delays that affected his activities of daily living at home and at school including his ability to read, write, and speak.
A thorough history, physical exam and chiropractic exam was completed before the initiation of chiropractic care. Gonstead technique was used to deliver high-velocity, low-amplitude adjustments to the child. Within two months of care the child’s symptoms started to dissipate. After six months of care the child was asymptomatic and wellness care was initiated.
Conclusion: This case study details the successful resolution of developmental coordination disorder-like symptoms in a five-year-old male following chiropractic care.
